History: Harry Lancaster was the Wildcats head coach for 16 seasons, eventually ending his tenure in 1965. His time at the helm was, on the whole, about as close to average as possible - his all-time record was 163-164-1 - but in 1961 the team reached their high-water mark under his guidance. The side finished second in the SEC with an overall record of 17-8. That '61 team featured All-American and All-SEC shortstop Dick Parsons, who followed in Lancaster's footsteps and went on to coach UK's baseball and basketball teams starting in 1970.
